Things are winding down to the last month before our wedding. We have gotten a lot done, but there is still a lot to do of course. Our major accomplishment last month was sending out our invitations, which we screen printed on plantable seed paper. It was a lot of work [...]

According to icWales, Waste Awareness Wales (WAW) has been asking brides and grooms to think about having a green wedding to cut down on the huge amount of unnecessary waste they can create, suggesting donations to charities rather than ostentatiously wrapped gifts, and email responses to invites rather than hand-written RSVPs.

This week Phil and I have been collecting cuttings of ivy, and planting them in seed trays to encourage them to root and start creeping across the greenhouse!
We are hoping that by March we will have many long ivy tendrils which we can plant alongside the primroses, daffodils and cyclamen in our table pots, to [...]

Wow, where has the time gone?! Only three weeks until we get married and have our first wedding celebration. (Our second, in the UK, will not be until September, though).
We are pretty much organised, I guess, though I do still get butterflies in my stomach every time I imagine the party… and all the unexpected [...]

It’s great to know we’re not the only loonies trying to grow our own flowers for the wedding. I was delighted to read here on the blog that Sharon has begun by growing a poppy in the fire escape… it just goes to show you don’t have to live in the country to find out [...]
