A carbon economy?

I just thought I would post a link to this article in the New Scotsman. The article describes a suggestion in a new report from the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT). The basis of it is that carbon ‘credits’ would become a kind of currency in the UK making low-carbon goods much cheaper than high-carbon ones.
It’s an interesting idea and would probably make green weddings virtually the only affordable kind of weddings to have… Lots of people have commented at the bottom of the article, with some very mixed responses. I wonder how successful it would be?
