Cornish couple up the eco wedding ante
Sep 18th, 2007 by Katie
I have been neglecting our little Ethical Weddings blog woefully over the last few weeks. First gallivanting (sustainably, by train!) to Spain, then living it up - or rather chilling out - at The End of the Road Festival these past few days, celebrating the end of our short-lived summer (read all about the fest’ in my post for Green Girls Global).
And while I’m in the middle of a field in Dorset, free for a brief moment of wedding related thoughts, what is that insistent sound I hear? No, it’s not the peacocks striding around the Larmer Tree festival grounds enquiring who all these people are, it’s a text from one of our Ethical Weddings brides to say that BBC Breakfast have found an eco-conscious couple in Cornwall!
Re-connecting to reality today, I read all about it. It makes impressive reading - from flowers made from old plastic bags to wooden wedding rings to online invites - they really had it all thought out (must ask them nicely if we can have all the details for Ethical Weddings!). In fact, I’m almost ‘green’ with envy (sorry, that was truly awful…!).
Read the full article on a Cornish green wedding at the BBC website and pick up some tips for your own plans. But please don’t be put off if you can’t quite tick every box; we’ve said it before and will say it a million times again: do what you can, it all makes a difference.
Happy planning!
Katie
