Ethical bride in Indonesia
Apr 8th, 2008 by Katie
After welcoming Ecoescape’s Laura to blog with us about her eco wedding plans last week, we are excited to introduce Diar, who is planning her 2009 wedding in Pontianak, Indonesia.
Diar is already struggling to get family and friends to understand her desire for a simpler celebration and this is made more difficult by the fact that she is, in her words, living in ’a city or country where most of the people aren’t familiar with green-living issues or don’t take green-living issues seriously‘.
Fortunately, her husband-to-be shares her passion for all things green and hopefully together they’ll be able to fulfil one of their top tips for planning an ethical wedding: ‘Let people around you and your guests know that you’re trying to make your wedding day greener —giving examples is always better than giving lectures.‘
We can’t wait to read Diar’s posts about planning an ethical wedding in Indonesia but in the meantime, check out Diar’s full profile.
Happy planning!
