What inspired you to have an ethical wedding?
As the founder of a green travel business, ecoescape, I seem to live and breathe green – so why not extend this to my wedding day! Of course the green honeymoon is the easy part for me; it’s the rest of the organising that’ll be the challenge.
Luckily I have a very supportive partner, Andrew, who’s sympathetic to my ethical ways. Together I hope we’ll inspire others to think a little differently about the planet but at the same time have a great day!
What has been the most difficult bit so far?
It’s still early days for us, so just thinking about things I’ve never had to think about before has been a challenge already! Also, convincing my family about ethical issues can be a bit difficult at times. Having said that, I’ve got over a year to turn them round. Hopefully they’ll not get too exasperated by my ways.
What has been the most fun bit?
Looking for a venue for a reception that’s off the beaten wedding track. We think we’ve struck gold!
What are your 5 top tips for brides and grooms planning an ethical wedding?
So far I only have one tip:
- find out among your friends and family who might be able to help out with music, flowers – anything!
