Well this is a little later than planned, but I think I’ve managed to meet today’s challenge!
After an evening searching the Internet I’ve not found the specifically labelled ‘Fair Trade Wedding Stationery’ business I was hoping for (hint, hint all you social enterprise people out there!). However, I have found more products available than I remember in 2005, which is great.
Fair Trade Wedding Stationery made for you
My first find is a bespoke wedding stationery service, provided by the ‘socially conscious enterprise’, Vinati’s Paper: see their why choose us section to find out more about their fair trade principles.
Next up are Kolkata who offer a full range of fair trade hand-crafted wedding stationery from India, and Dragonfly Invites who also include fair trade options in their collection of hand-crafted wedding stationery – both of whom are already Ethical Weddings suppliers.
Blank Fair Trade Cards
If you’re feeling creative (and have the time!) how about buying blank fair trade cards, and adding your own words (you’ll find a number of websites offering free templates to help with wording and layout). I particularly like this Carnation Card from Fair Trade Media.
But there’s a whole host of suitable fair trade cards out there – tonight I’ve found:
Fair Trade Media, Fairwind, Ganesha, More than Gifts, The Pink Planet Company, Traidcraft
Fair Trade Raw Materials
For the exceptionally creative among you, there’s always the option of buying the fair trade raw materials and making your very own wedding stationery from scratch. I’ve found a couple of sources for fair trade paper (see below) but you could also try to source other fair trade items (beads, ribbon, embroidery…) to stick, thread and fold in your own artistic way!
For fair trade A4 Handmade Paper Sheets (printer friendly!) how about trying: One World is Enough – they have envelopes too…
Well, I think that’s about all I can manage for tonight but I’m sure there are loads more fair trade stationery companies out there. If you know of one I’ve missed, tell me!
Alex
