Feeling flushed on your wedding day?
Apr 22nd, 2008 by Katie
One of our Ethical Weddings visitors got in touch recently on a subject that I don’t think we’ve really covered in this blog…
Toilets
Yep, if you’re having a marquee for your wedding, whether you like it or not, conveniences are going to come into your considerations somewhere!
First thoughts probably leap to finding a service that promises to stay clean and sweet-smelling - and not resemble the loos one might find on the last day (or even the first!) of the Glastonbury festival.
But of course this wouldn’t be the Ethical Weddings blog without getting on to those awkward environmental issues too - and at this point I hand over to our Ethical Weddings bride who has experience in these matters:
“Just an idea - I don’t know if you have done a feature on this – but I used Thunderboxes 2 Go at our wedding instead of chemical loos, which have formaldehyde in the nasty blue rinse they use.
They are based in Tiverton in Devon and are a great alternative. The only problem is they don’t have a sink – but we assembled this rather rustic alternative which looked lovely - see the pics!
Also there are a number of companies which do chemical loos but don’t have the nasty chemicals (it took me ages to find them though so I may as well tell you): Peagreen Toilets and Spend a Penny
You could also try Premier Luxury Loos who do use formaldehyde but were going to try and stop!”
If anyone else has tried any of the companies mentioned, has others to suggest or top tips to share, please let us know!
Happy flushing…
Katie
