Puppy love

I just spotted this and couldn’t resist a quick post… even though I’m supposed to be working on the new Ethical Weddings website!
According to the Peterborough Telegraph, Wood Green Animal Shelters has been granted a licence to perform Civil Marriage, Civil Partnerships and Naming Ceremonies at their Godmanchester site - they think the first animal welfare charity to be granted a licence.
With 52 acres of farmland and facilities to cater for up to 1,600 people (including a specially built gazebo for outdoor ceremonies) this sounds like a ’win win’ situation. You get to celebrate in beautiful surroundings while the facilities hire fee helps support an animal welfare charity offering a home to dogs, cats, horses and even ferrets!
As the Director of business development at the shelter, Tina Jeffery, says:
“This is fabulous news for the charity and what a wonderful way to help raise funds for the animals in our care.”
For more info on celebrating your nuptials alongside our four-legged friends, why not go along to the Wood Green Wedding Fair this Sunday, October 21, at the Godmanchester shelter. Or call 08701 904090, or drop an email to businessdevelopment@woodgreen.org.uk
