Wow, where has the time gone?! Only three weeks until we get married and have our first wedding celebration. (Our second, in the UK, will not be until September, though).

We are pretty much organised, I guess, though I do still get butterflies in my stomach every time I imagine the party… and all the unexpected disasters that we haven’t prepared for. (I do like to BE PREPARED - which is both a strength and a failing at times like these!)

The homemade invitations have been sent out by mail and by e-mail, and RSVPs are coming in!

Our gorgeous wedding attire, carefully garnered from the city’s best charity shops, is hanging in the spare room.

We have a large bag full of homemade paper flowers, placed carefully out of reach of the cat, and a pile of tissue paper so we can make more in front of the telly.

A box full of jars, found at the back of a charity shop, are ready for nightlights.

We have arranged to borrow half the crockery we’ll need, and a few sets of fairy lights.

Our ideas for homespun entertainment are coming together, and a friend has offered to MC for us.

We have paid a couple more visits to the hall (now a non-smoking venue, which is a blessing!) and worked out what we need to bring from home to complement the lighting and décor.

Best of all, our idea of catering ourselves has prompted some guests to offer to bring a dish. One Greek culinary genius has simply asked how many guests there’ll be and when he can get access to the kitchen!

We consider ourselves very lucky to have such generous, helpful friends and family! Goodness knows where we’d be without them!
