Vegan wedding tips
May 28th, 2007 by Katie
Ok, so National Vegetarian Week ended yesterday but one of our brides in the Ethical Weddings Forum had a few useful words of advice so I thought I would share them with you…
I’m having a vegan wedding in December. So far, it has been easy enough.
The hotel where the wedding and reception will be held have been great. Although not exclusively veggie/vegan, they have met all our requirements, and have devised some lovely menus for all to enjoy (with some suggestions from us).
I found a cake maker to supply a beautiful vegan cake (they made me a sample first and it was delicious, you wouldn’t know the difference). Clothing and accessories have been easy too- even managed to source vegan sporrans for the kilt wearers!
All our friends and family are very supportive of our wishes for a vegan wedding, and in fact are looking forward to something different from the norm. Despite what you might think, it is really easy to organise a veggie/vegan wedding if you put your mind to it. I found the internet really helpful for searching out suppliers and info.
I’m really looking forward to our special day and feeling good that we could ensure it was as ethical and cruelty free as possible. Hopefully your plans will be just as successful and straightforward if you choose the veggie/vegan route.
Do drop us a line if you want to share your wedding plans with us on the blog, whether it’s a one-off occasional post, a real ethical wedding tale, or to join our team of Ethical Weddings bloggers - we’d love to hear from you!
Happy planning!

I just want to say that my husband and I held a veggie wedding and no one knew the difference as far as we can tell. We were somewhat nervous that people (especially our Southern relatives) would be loudly asking after the ham, but there was no such troubles. To anyone nervous that people won’t enjoy veggie fare at a wedding, don’t worry about it. If the food is yummy, people won’t even think about the absence of meat!
where did you find a cruelty free sporran???
